SHOOT DAY NEUTRAL MAKEUP ROUTINE | THE ALMA CHRONICLE

SHOOT DAY NEUTRAL MAKEUP ROUTINE

As a blogger, shooting for multiple hours; and in multiple outfits in a day has become necessary. Whether I shoot longer just to find that perfect photo or ‘cos I’m changing into a thousand outfits, it’s important that my makeup stays put through the chaos and matches all my outfits.

Here’s a breakdown of my quick 30-minutes routine that stands the test of time.

Moisturizing is the first step. I go heavy on moisturizers and face oils, especially in the colder months to avoid my skin from drying out throughout the day. My current combo is the Josie Maran Argan Moisturizing Oil & Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Bouncy Hydrating Gel

Base: Illuminate & Prime

I use a couple of primers depending on what I need for my skin at that moment. In the winter, I lean more towards moisturizing primers like the Smashbox Iconic Photo Finish Primer. I was recently introduced to the Motives Complexion Perfection Face Primer and it’s a strong contender for my fave. It not only keeps the oil at bay but the velvety finish is divine! For glow-y skin, I wear the Glamglow Mega Illuminating Moisturizer before my foundation.

Foundation & Concealer

I love full coverage foundations because I have acne scars. My all time favourite is the Esteé Lauder Double Wear Foundation

To highlight some parts of my face, I use the Urban Decay’s Weightless Concealer in shade Dark Golden. This is a shade lighter and I love that it’s also lightweight & hydrating.

Powder & Bronzer

I set my face with two loose powders. Sacha buttercup translucent powder for the highlighted parts & Motives translucent loose powder in dark, all over my face. Setting with loose powder increased the longevity of wear throughout the day. I went from a solid 4 hrs of wear to 7 or 8 hours without smile lines, creasing or blotting.

To add definition & warmth to my face, I contour lightly with the Covergirl Queen Ebony Bronzer.

Eyes

To fill in my brows, I use the Yanga Beauty Browlution or Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow DefinerI clean it up using my concealer and finish up with the Too-Faced Better Than Sex Mascara & Ardell Double Wispies lashes

The MAC Lipliner in Cork + Marc Jacobs lip gloss in Taboo = the perfect nude combo.

I set my face with the Maybelline Master-Fix Setting Spray and I’m all done!

That’s a pretty and natural look! How does the Urban Decay concealer wear? Heard different reviews about it and I want to hear from a girl with skin like mine.\

Thanks babe! I love the Naked concealer! The consistency is everything, it’s hydrating and if set properly, doesn’t crease at all. I’ve been using it for about 2 months and I honestly have no complaints. A good escape from the thick L.A Girl Pro Conceal.
