GUEST FEATURE 02 | BELLA
We have the lovely and beautiful Bella on the blog today!
I remember stumbling on her youtube channel some months ago and falling in love instantly (yes, I had a girl crush moment). I was so excited when I followed her on twitter and realized she was not only beautiful but also laced with a great personality. Today, she is sharing with us her struggles on being an upcoming blogger and the journey so far.
What is your full name and how old are you?
Lol, that’s a tall order! My full name is Annabel Onomoin Omoiekhefe Isioma Chukwufumnanya Adoara Judith Giwa-Amu. It’s quite a mouthful. I prefer being called Bella though
When did you decide to start blogging and why?
I’ve actually been going through the blogging motions for 2 and a half years on and off but I decided to stick to that commitment just recently. Like this week! I’ve decided I’m going to finally refer to myself as a blogger and kill my commitment issues
In addition to being a lifestyle blogger, you are also a beauty vlogger and a student. How do you manage all these different parts of your life?
My blogging/vlogging tends to suffer the most to be honest. They end up staying hobbies and not coming to the forefront but I’m working on a schedule for 2016 that’ll ensure all my passions get the love they deserve
What are some of the challenges you have faced and currently facing?
My biggest struggle has been demotivation. I think a common issue with “creatives” is not feeling like you’re living up to what you know you’re capable of. It’s scary, especially when you try to see too far into the future. Sometimes I need to remind myself I’m doing this because I enjoy it and I need to take it all one day at a time, you know? Currently though, my biggest issue has been quality content. A lot of the time, I blog or make videos that seemed like they would look amazing at first but then end up not quite meeting up to the standards I would like to have. But once again, I’m doing the one day at a time thing
How has the journey being so far? Is there anything you’d do differently?
It’s been a coming of age story, girl!! I’ve grown with my blog and I’ve finally committed to my style, you know? If I could do anything differently, I’d probably own the blogger title earlier on in the process. Once you own it, nothing can stop you
What do you do to get back on track and get going when you lose motivation?
I check out my favourite bloggers! I’m a sucker for amazing pictures and when I see what others are doing, and where they started from, it keeps me going!
Where would you like to be in the coming years both as an individual and a blogger?
1. Blogging: I want to be a social media influencer. I’d love to be that person that people trust to give honest reviews, advice and dare I say “style tips”
2. YouTube : I want to be everyone’s big sister, honestly! I want to be transparent and trustworthy and a role model to younger girls
3. Individual: honestly, I want to get to the point where I’m 100% honest with myself and everyone on everything. I want to be happy and anxiety free
We know that having a good support system is key in this field, but do you think it makes it easier?
Oh My Gosh! I cannot stress how important this is! I remember the first time I got featured anywhere! My boyfriend saw it before me and I could tell he was proud. He’s my best friend and he’s a constant source of encouragement. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve needed to be encouraged, lol. My mum is my right hand as well, especially YouTube wise! She’s ON it and she loves when people come up to her and tell her they watch my videos. Her being proud of me is all the support I need. It definitely makes it easier to be a creative when you know there are people who will always have your back.
Are there any bloggers that inspire you and you’d like to work with?
Wow, that’s quite a list. I tend to obsess over a variety! But to keep the list short, I love your blog (but you and my whole Twitter TL knows that) because you’re a classic. You dress how I wish I could but I’m all over the place, I love Fisayo Longe (mirrorme.me) , Style By Ada (noordinaryshe.com), I love Irene (theolio.com), and Indiana’s style is my style’s spirit animal (kingindiana.com), the list is really endless
Wine or whisky?
I’m a red wine girl, give me a bottle of Merlot and I’ll be your bff until I’m done with it
Do you have tips for anyone just starting out?
Have fun with it! Don’t put pressure on yourself and make sure you go at your own pace
Thank you for visiting Bella! I hope we get to do that collaboration soon and I can steal some make-up tips because God knows I need that in my life!
Thanks for reading and I hope you visit again!
Love, happiness & more love..
